Back-to-School Funding

The opening of the new school year is looming, the cash register receipts start to stack up when purchasing school clothes, supplies and all other school related costs. Reach Church is helping families by giving away 300 new backpacks stuffed with school supplies this coming Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Blair Youth Sports Complex at the corner of 10th and Jackson. There are games, bounce house, food and more. That’s this Sunday starting at 5 at the Youth Sports Complex.

If your child is looking a little shaggy, and you want them to start off school on the right foot but funds are a little limited, the folks at Ahead of the Curve Salon are providing free hair cuts for school aged kids next Saturday, August 14th from 10:00 until 2:00. Space is limited in the salon, so it’s recommended that you stop by and take a number and then come back when you are called. Salon Owner Bradley Swartwood says any tips given during that time will be donated to the Washington County Food Pantry. Again, that’s Saturday, August 14th. Details can be found on the Ahead of the Curve Salon Facebook Page.
