Coronavirus in Harrison County: March 16


A confirmed case of Coronavirus has been found in Harrison County, Iowa. A resident recently returned from a trip to England and is now quarantined at home.


Several closures and postponements due to the Coronavirus: Blair Schools and Fort Calhoun Schools are closed for this week, Tekamah-Herman Schools are closed for two weeks. The Blair and Missouri Valley Public Libraries are closed for this week.


After 22 confirmed cases in Iowa, Governor Kim Reynolds is recommending that public schools close immediately for four weeks to stem the spread of the virus.

Among the postponements – The Drugs, Vapes and Teens seminar scheduled for March 19 at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital has been cancelled

Additionally, several family oriented attractions such as the Omaha zoo are closing to help stem the spread of the virus.
