Financial Literacy Classes Coming to Nebraska Schools.
Who taught you how to balance a check book? What about budgeting for your regular household expenses? School children in the Cornhusker state now must learn about budgeting, credit, banking, loans and insurance. This after Governor Pete Ricketts signed LB 452 – the Nebraska Financial Literacy Act.
State Treasurer John Murante says that too many high school graduates lacked basic financial skills like balancing a checkbook and how to set a budget. The measure goes into effect for the 2022-23 school year.
