Dr. Bernie Mattheis, Professor Emeritus of Dana College, passed away on Tuesday, July 21st. He taught at Dana for 36 years. Many of those years, he led the Education Department as its chair. Dr. Mattheis’ funeral will be held this Saturday, July 25th, at the west campus of Lutheran Church of the Master in Elkhorn at 1:00 pm. heafeyheafey.com
Mary Ann Laaker passed away peacefully at her home in Bennington, Nebraska, on July 10, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, and unwavering love for her family and community. A Celebration of Life honoring Mary Ann will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Arlington VFW, 218 W. Eagle Street, Arlington, Nebraska.
Nancy Ellen Goeken, age 78 of Blair, passed away July 20, 2026, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at First United Methodist Church in Blair.
