Well, once in a blue moon, you see a blue moon. No, tonight’s moon will not actually be the color blue, but since it’s the second full moon in the same month, that makes it a “blue moon”. It’s also a super moon, meaning that it’s closest to the Earth during the full moon stage and is at it’s largest and brightest appearance in the sky.
The last time this happened, according to Space.com was in 2018, and it’s not expected to happen again until the year 2037.
