Most towns and villages in Washington County have approved franchise agreements with Cox Communications. Those outside of a municipal area in the county will be able to utilize the services after the Washington County Board of Supervisor’s yesterday approved a franchise agreement. Representatives of Cox say they expect about 1600 homes to participate, initially, and installation of lines is underway near the Blair Airport.
Also at that meeting yesterday afternoon, Emergency Management Director Dan Douglas discussed developing emergency procedures at each of the county’s buildings. The Jail already has it’s protocols, says Douglas, and then recommended that the remainder of the justice center and the court house be considered as one facility. That element was approved in preliminary discussion.
A hearing date of February 22nd was set for the County Roads department one and six year plan.
