The City of Blair Police Department hosted the annual national night out at Generations Park on Tuesday night, August 4th. Representatives from area first responders and local business partners were able to make an event that the citizens of Blair were able to enjoy. John W. Tyson, age 65 of Herman, passed away August 1, 2026 at his home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 5 at Campbell Aman Funeral Home from 5 PM to 7 PM with a rosary at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 6 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church at 10 AM with a luncheon immediately following services. The Washington County Fair wrapped up the local area fair season with cooler temperatures, a little rain, and a lot of fun. This year the Washington County Extension was able to put on a great show with the 4-H exhibitors displaying their skills with crafts and animals. New this year was the Kids Barn, that served as a resting spot for many parents with children of all ages, and the Blair Chapter of the FFA held their first Ag Olympics.
