Gateway Preparation
The City of Blair Public Works team, with assistance from members of the Blair Volunteer Fire Department, got an early start this morning washing down Washington Street in preparation for Saturday’s Gateway to the West Parade. While rain may be in the forecast, they want to make sure every nook and cranny is clean and ready to welcome the many visitors who will be joining us this weekend. Blair Fire Department Summary
The Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue released their May call report. In the month of may the BVFD responded to 111 total calls for service. 97 were medical calls and 14 fire calls. 71 hours, 45 minutes spent on emergency responses with an average time on each response of 38 minuets, 47 seconds. Busiest days of service were May 7th, 13th, and 14th with 7 calls each. This is not including the hundreds of volunteer hours spent train, completing reports, and maintaining equipment.

The Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue reported 3 that they responded to 3 medical calls on Wednesday, May 27th. Yesterday, May 28th, they had water rescue training with Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue. “Great opportunity to sharpen our skills, strengthen teamwork, and prepare together for whatever comes our way.
