MAKING IT OFFICIAL!     He announced his candidacy for Washington County Sheriff back in May, and today Kevin Willis officially filed for candidacy at the clerk’s office in Blair.     Willis has 30 years law enforcement experience, with 26 of those years with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office – some of it as chief deputy. Yesterday’s storms kept the Iowa State Patrol busy. The patrol says it responded to 158 calls for service from 6am Sunday to 8pm, of that 31 vehicle crashes with 22 having property damage, one of those accidents was fatal, eight had injuries and 127 motorist assists were performed.     That storm yesterday closed parts of I-35 from Ames to the Minnesota border.

ACCIDENTS & WARRANT ARRESTS ON WCSO WEEKEND REPORT      A one vehicle accident at County Roads 40 and 45 last night is on the Washington County Sheriff’s Activity report for the weekend. Another accident just a few minutes earlier – this one in the 13 thousand block of Highway 91, injuries were involved. An area motorist was arrested at Highway 75 and Hollow Road for a warrant. Deputies aided Blair Police in an arrest Saturday of a motorist who was driving while suspended and
