ARREST MADE IN ONAWA ARSON
Last week we reported on suspicious fires in Onawa, Iowa, including one at the Monona County Fairgrounds on January 28th. Two other fires on January 26th. Monona County Sheriff Kevin Ewing, in a news release this morning, says an arrest has been made in the matter. 43 year old David Ira Bryan has been charged with Arson in the 2nd degree for the fire that burned the grandstand at the county fairgrounds. WEEKEND REPORT FROM WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF MIKE ROBINSON: A traffic stop Friday evening by the Washington County Sheriff’s office in Fort Calhoun ends in the arrest of a 39 year old male on a warrant. Another incident in Fort Calhoun a little over an hour later when children were located unattended in a powerless house by a family member. Children’s Services was contacted. An illegal burn was found Saturday morning in the one thousand block of County Road 32. A

DOG DIES IN FIRE AT COUNTRY ESTATES
Fire crews are monitoring the scene for any flair ups after a trailer home fire this morning at Country Estates Park just south of Blair. Witnesses say one home was fully engulfed, the owner had left for work earlier in the morning. The homeowners dog did perish in that fire. Crews from Fort Calhoun, Kennard and Blair responded to that fire, no human fatalities or injuries are reported at this time. (stock photo below)
