SHERIFF SAYS HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMITTED MAN IN MENTAL HEALTH EPISODE WALKING AWAY FROM FACILITY
The incident Tuesday evening regarding a person walking away from the Blair Hospital after being committed for a mental health episode in Herman – that episode involving shots fired, is being made more clear by Sheriff Mike Robinson.    The Sheriff says the Blair Police aided the Sheriff’s department in alerting area residence of this man’s presence in the area. TENSE SITUATION IN HERMAN WITH A PERSON SUFFERING A MENTAL HEALTH EPISODE
A little after noon Tuesday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request to check on the well being of a man suffering from a mental health episode. When deputies arrived, they observed a man in body armor and armed with an assault rifle. The Washington County Tactical Team and negotiators attempted to talk to the man.
