68 year old Gary Spracklin of Omaha passed away January 26. He is survived by his wife, Corrine, siblings Carol Kucera, Jeff Spracklin and Barb Romans and their families. The Celebration of Life will be at a later date. 86 year old Carmela Taylor Coleman of Bellevue passed away January 22nd. A fire last night at the Monona County Fairgrounds burned part of the grandstands among other damages. The origin of the fire is unknown at this time. Crews from Onawa, Blencoe, Whiting Fire departments, the Monona County Sheriff’s Office, Monona County Emergency Management and Burgess Health Center responded. A vaccinated adult who did not travel outside the state has been confirmed with measles in Lancaster County according to the Lincoln-Lancaser County Health Department. Measles is a very contagious airborne disease. The infected person was at Walmart at 4700 North 27th Street on January 18th, and at Med Elite Urgent care at 7120 South 69th street on January 25th.
