Electronic citation and electronic crash equipment will be coming soon to the Blair Police Department.     The Nebraska Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office provided over twelve hundred dollars for the equipment.    The equipment will help the department to better track citation and crash information.

The Blair Police Department recognized three officers for their outstanding contributions to the department and the community. A little after noon Tuesday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request to check on the well being of a man suffering from a mental health episode. When deputies arrived, they observed a man in body armor and armed with an assault rifle. The Washington County Tactical Team and negotiators attempted to talk to the man.
