Advisory Information for this Weekend
The National Weather service updated their advisory information for the weekend. Hazardous heat is on track to stick around into the weekend. The Heat Advisory has been expanded and extended through Saturday. Drink plenty of water if you'll be outside. Check up on vulnerable friends and family. NEVER leave kids or pets unattended in a vehicle. This is an extension of the heat advisory already in effect as heat indices continue in the upper 90’ and low 100’s through Saturday.

Heat Wave Rolling In
The National Weather Service Omaha/Valley stated that well above normal temperatures will likely continue through the week, possibly through next weekend. Drink plenty of water and seek ways to give your body a break from the heat over the next several days. Hot & humid weather expected over the next several days with scattered showers and storms possible. As this weather continues, please also check for schedule changes on outdoor activities. Drought Conditions in Washington County
(pic credit drought.gov, url in pic) Drought.gov maps show that leading up to the recent rainfall, 39.21% of Washington County is reporting as Moderate Drought. The remaining portions of the County are considered as Abnormally Dry. When looking at the Drought Monitor for the State of Nebraska, conditions indicate that 81.2% of the state is in a level of drought with 10.4 % abnormally dry.
