FLOOD WATCH TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING
The National Weather Service Omaha/Valley issued a Flood Watch that includes Blair, Missouri Valley and surrounding areas including Tekamah and Nebraska City. This Flood Watch is in effect from Tuesday evening through Thursday evening and is due to anticipated excessive rainfall possible.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. Prolonged rain falling on saturated soil could lead to flooding in the coming days.
Rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches are expected in many locations through Thursday, with localized amounts topping 5 inches for some. For flood safety information, visit weather.gov/safety/flood.
