Here’s what’s happening in the Blair area Faith Community:
Blair’s First United Methodist Church is having a dinner from 5 to 6:30 tonight – Spaghetti bake served by the Women’s Bake Club, take out is available and a free will offering will be appreciated. Blair’s First United Methodist is at 1656 Colfax Street in Blair. Call 402-426-2156
The Mid Week Meal this evening at First Lutheran Church starts at 5:30, the menu is Taco Chicken Caserole. Details online at firstlutheranblair.org
First Baptist Church of Blair this evening will have guest speaker Lou Secora, a Messianic Jew, with discussion regarding the Jewish foundation of Christianity. 6:30 pm at 205 South 18th street. You do not need to be a member of the church to participate.
This Sunday the Craig Parish Chicken and Biscuit Dinner and coat drive is this Sunday at the Craig Fire Hall from 11am to 1pm. Fruit salad, vegetables, dessert and beverage is inlcuded. The parish is also having a Bring One Take One Winterwear drive. If you have extra coats, scarves, hats or gloves, please bring them and they will be distributed in the community.
Fort Calhoun’s Presbyterian church is having a soup supper Sunday, November 2nd from 5 to 7:30. Homemade chicken noode, chili or potato soup are available, and includes dessert, muffin and a drink for a free will donation. Proceeds to help raise funds for graduating seniors and mission trips.
Camp Fontenelle’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is a fundraiser for the non-profit Methodist camp – this weekend..and during weekdays by reservation. You can find more details online at splitoakhollow.org
Something to put on your calendar...Blair’s First United Methodist Church is having an open air Christmas Market December 12th and 13th, with vendors, a food truck, wagon rides from Jenson Shires, refreshments and Santa too.
First Presbyterian Church of Missouri Valley is having a soup dinner on November 1st from 4 to 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall at 210 North Fourth Street . The Suggested donation is ten dollars or free will donation.
An Inspired Exhibit. Over 100 Biblical artifacts will be on display from October 22nd to November 9th at the Oakview Mall in Omaha- at the food court entrance. There is no charge. Details can be found online at InspiredExhibitOmaha.com
The Greater Omaha Youth for Christ is sponsoring a Comedy night on Thursday, October 30th at the Funny Bone Comedy Club starting at 6:30. More information is available by calling 402-214-3985
A diaper drive is underway, Sizes 3 through 6, pullups and training underwear are needed. Those donations can be dropped off at any of the Trinity catholic Parish Locations by October 31st. Money can be donated as well to purchase diapers – the diapers will be donated to Washington County and Tekamah Area food pantries. More information can be found by calling 402-533-4976
