HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…

Arbor Day at Black Elk Neihardt Park from 6-9pm. The first 50 people will receive free trees. There will be tree workshops at 6pm, a nature walk with Nebraska foresters at 7pm, sawmill demonstrations, and fireside snacks from PassageWay Church. This free event is open to the public and will be held rain or shine.

Upcoming Blood Drives include one happening Thursday, April 23rd from 10am - 4pm at Memorial Community Hospital. Donation appointments were still available as of this posting.

A second is scheduled for Sunday, April 26 from 9am - 2pm at Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle. They will be collecting nonperishable food for the Faith Food Pantry in Winslow, NE. Register for either at RedCrossBlood.org

The NRD is giving away free Redbud seedlings at their office on April 24 from 8-4pm. Their office is located at 1060 Wilbur St. in Blair. Happy Arbor Day!

National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 25. Dispose of unwanted or expired medications safely by bringing them to the Blair Police Department.

Memorial Community Hospital is hosting the Spring 2026 Baby Expo on Monday, April 27 from 4-6:30pm. It will be a great time to tour the Labor & Delivery suites, meet nurses, and learn more about their services.

Bloom into Better Health is the topic of April’s Lunch & Learn hosted by Memorial Community Hospital on Thursday, April 30 at noon. This Lunch & Learn focuses on how small changes in one’s daily routine can make a big difference. Lunch is provided, sign up in advance at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/GwaNRfMui1
