HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…


Blair High School presents Geezers on April 10 at 7pm and April 11 at 2pm and 7pm. $10 for adults and $5 for students. (The play contains mature themes.)


Blair Spring Clean-up is from April 10-18. At the Blair Public Works yard, Blair city residents can dispose of many household, lawn, and construction materials (no hazardous waste will be accepted). The Blair Public Works offices will be open April 10-26 from 4-6pm on weekdays and 10am-5pm on weekends.


Missouri Valley Community Cleanup Day is on April 11 at the Rand Center parking lot. Paper shredding is from 9-11am. Electronic recycling, D’s Hauling & Metal Recycling ($5 per application), medication drop off, dumpster for landfill garbage and rechargeable battery collection is from 9am-noon. The grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Hugh and Jane Hunt Vitage Radio Gallery is on Friday, April 10, from 10 to 11am at the Washington County Museum.


The Washington County First Responder Softball Game is coming up on Saturday, April 11, at 6:30pm at the Blair Youth Sports Complex. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. All proceeds go to Blair Little League.


Fort Calhoun Kite Festival is coming up on April 12 from 11am to 4pm at 603 S 14th Street, Fort Calhoun, NE (parking south of the Surplus Sale Warehouse). There will be kites and ground spinners being sold. Family-friendly event.


The Celebration of Giving from the Washington County Community Foundation has been rescheduled for April 14, from 6-8pm at the Rybin Building. It will be a time to recognize Washington County Gives sponsors and recipients, present funds to grant recipients, and listen to guest speakers.


Sip and Paint is coming up on Friday, April 17 from 6-7:30pm at Carter Place. It will be an opportunity for networking with professionals while enjoying conversation and painting led by a local artist. RSVP by April 13 by calling 402-426-1977.


Habitat for Humanity will be having a Transfer of Death Deed Clinic on April 18 from 9am to 1pm at the Blair Public Library. At this free event, there will be volunteer attorneys who can help prepare individual Transfer of Death Deeds. To register or for more information, go to HabitatOmaha.org/transfer-on-death-deeds/


Paws and Petals Family Night is happening on Sunday April 19 from 4-7pm at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Tickets are $15 for adults and $9 for children. They can be purchased at zeeffy.com/paws-and-petals. All proceeds go to the Jeanette Hunt - Blair Animal Shelter.
