HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…


Opening Day at Generations Park Splash Pad. Opens around lunchtime on Friday, May 15.


City of Blair Early Bird Swim Lesson Registration Friday, May 15 4-6 PM and Saturday, May 16 9-11 AM.


Herman Legion Post 274 is having free coffee and donuts for veterans and their families on May 16 from 8-11am at Herman Legion Hall.


Papio NRD Electronic Recycling Collections is on Tuesday, May 19 at 10am-noon in Tekamah (539 S. 13th St.) and 2-5pm in Blair (1060 Wilbur St.). Free disposal of computers, monitors, keyboards, TVs, printers, DVD players, audio/video equipment, small electronic devices, and radios. No large appliances or computer/electronic repair.

Night Market in Art Alley & Pocket Park Downtown Blair is on Thursday, May 21st from 5-9pm. There will be mini root beer floats and boutique vendors.


Nomadic Novels Mobile Bookstore has its grand opening on May 21 at 5:30pm at the Art Alley.


Fort Calhoun Pioneers for Education is inviting families out to celebrate the end of the school year at the Adams Street Plaza Park Splash Pad. Thursday, May 21 11:15am to 1:30pm. Foam Party, Splash pad fun, Free hot dogs, chips and popsicles. This event is for Fort Calhoun Elementary students and is the perfect way to celebrate the end of another great school year.


Summer 4th Friday Block Party at Art Alley is starting May 22 from 5:30-8pm. There will be family-friendly entertainment, games, and food trucks.


Memorial Community Hospital is having a lunch and learn on Tuesday, May 26, from noon- 1 pm in the Bagby/Gentry Conference Rooms. The topic is Nutrition as We Age: Eating healthy to prevent chronic disease.
