Here’s what’s happening in our area…
Rosco’s Rescue Ranch is fundraising for surgery needed on a rescued horse. $ 1600 dollars is needed. More details on donating for this effort can be found online at roscosrescueranch.org
Three Rivers Public Health department will be among those conducting a follow up survey of residents in Washington and Douglas Counties that were impacted by last year’s tornados. Surveyors will have identification and will do those surveys through May 8th.
The Annual Plant Sale at the Blair High School Green House is today and tomorrow 4 to 6pm at the school’s greenhouse, 440 North Tenth in Blair.
The Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, put on by the US Postal Service Letter Carriers, is this coming Saturday, May 10th. You can leave your non-perishable foods to be donated in a bag by your mail box.
The Washington County Bike Rodeo is this coming Saturday, 11am at the Washington County Bank parking lot. Hosted by the Blair Optimist Club, Free Helmets, activities, free bike repairs, drawings for new bikes and bike decorating are part of the fun – and free lunch is provided by the Blair Kiwanis Club. That’s this coming Saturday at 11:00
Glenwood Iowa author Debra Hines presents her book “Sled Dogs and their Mushers” on Monday, May 12th, 1pm at the Missouri Valley Public Library. The presentation is free and open to the public.
