HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…
Fishing Clinic at DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, May 9th at 9am at the South Gate Recreation Area. No advanced registration required. Fishing rods and bait furnished (or bring your own gear). All experience levels welcome. Those under 16 may fish without a license, 16 and older require a valid Iowa or Nebraska fishing license.
The Bike Rodeo is coming up on May 9 from 11am-1pm at the WCB South Parking Lot. There will be an obstacle course, helmets, hot dogs, and prizes.
The Rustic Shed Spring Vendor Market is on Saturday, May 9 from 10am-2pm at 2803 335th Street, Logan, Iowa. There will be a variety of vendors ranging from local businesses to handmade crafts to flea market finds. Admission fee is $5.
National Peace Officer Memorial Walk & Service is on Thursday, May 14 at 6:30pm. It will start at the Blair Police Department and end at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. It is a time to honor officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.
Papio NRD Electronic Recycling Collections is on May 19 at 10am-noon in Tekamah (539 S. 13th St.) and 2-5pm in Blair (1060 Wilbur St.). Free disposal of computers, monitors, keyboards, TVs, printers, DVD players, audio/video equipment, small electronic devices, and radios. No large appliances or computer/electronic repair.
