HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…


The Washington County Food Pantry at Joseph’s Coat is getting low on peanut butter and jelly – donations of those items and other non-perishable foods are sought – details at josephscoat.org


 The Blair Police Department is selling Pink Patch Tee Shirts online at stores.inksoft.com.  Proceeds from the sale of the Pink Patch Shirts help support a number of Cancer Awareness organizations across the state. More details can be found on the Blair Police Department’s Facebook Page.


Kennard’s Grace United Methodist Church is having a Harvest Dinner this Sunday, October 19th from 11am to 1pm. The meal includes chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, biscuit and dessert – for a free will offering.


The Arlington Senior Center turns 45 this year. A celebration of that anniversary is Saturday, November 1st from 8 to 10am at 305 North Third Street in Arlington. Refreshments will be served.


The Blair chapter of the Sons of the American Legion is having a Big Cup Golf Outing on Sunday, October 19th starting at 10am Sign up of twosomes and foursomes. More details can be had by callng 402-426-2941


The Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue Department’s annual pancake breakfast is Sunday, October 19th from 8am to noon, a free will donation will be accepted.


The Blair Optimist Club is now registering those people who want to sponsor a family for the Christmas Program this year. Please see the Blair Optimist Club’s Facebook Page for more details.


An event to support area Wheelchair Basketball teams is Saturday, October 25th at the American Legion in Millard from noon to 3pm. The Dogs for Dawgs is a hot dog bar with a variety of toppings and sides – ten dollars for adults, five for kids, along with silent cautions and more.
