We’ve been hearing various reports about a massive brood of 17 year cicadas emerging in parts of the nation.
The USDA, however, says this particular wave of cicadas is not expected in Nebraska and Iowa. The U.S. Forest Service says this wave is hatching in the eastern United States.
Our area last dealt with large emergence of Cicadas in 2015 , which are on a 13 year cycle, and are not expected to re-emerge until 2028.
