West Nile in Three Rivers District

West Nile Virus, which can cause a flu-like reaction in humans, has been found in testing pools in the Three Rivers Public Health Department District which includes Dodge, Saunders and Washington Counties.

West Nile Virus is spread by mosquitos. People can protect themselves by using a repellent that contains DEET, wearing long sleeves and pants and clearing out standing water where mosquitos can breed.

Additionally, Three Rivers has free mosquito wipes and dunks for residents of the district. More details can be found online at threeriverspublichealth.org.
