If you have asthma or allergies, you may want to hang out indoors the next few days because of smoke drifting into the area from wildfires to the west of our area.
The National Weather Service says that smoke is expected to linger through the weekend. Visibility in the smoky haze is down to two miles in some areas.
The worst of the smoke today is in the northeast section of the state and portions of western Harrison and Monona counties and eastward to the Fort Dodge area.
The smoke trails will be a little lighter tomorrow, with a heavy streak, however ranging from Columbus to Northern Douglas and Southeastern Washington Counties.
