Temperatures are spring-like for the next few days, and it might be a good time to prepare your vehicle for winter weather. The Iowa State Patrol recommends keeping a full tank of gas, a mobile phone charger, flashlights, extra clothing, a first aid kit, ice scraper and snow brush, bottled water and, to be practical, a roll or two of toilet paper. Additionally, any medications that you may need should you get stuck in a snowbank in the future.

TEKAMAH MAN IN CUSTODY FOR BURGLARY, OTHER CHARGES
A burglary and theft reported in Tekamah lead to the investigation of a suspect last week. A search warrant obtained by the Tekamah Police Department and with assistance with the Burt County Sheriff’s Office of a camper in an alleyway, found several stolen items valued into the thousands, along with a small amount of methamphetamine. The suspect was found riding a bicycle near the scene and arrested. A 37 year old resident of the town was charged with burglary, theft,
