Temperatures are spring-like for the next few days, and it might be a good time to prepare your vehicle for winter weather.     The Iowa State Patrol recommends keeping a full tank of gas, a mobile phone charger, flashlights, extra clothing, a first aid kit, ice scraper and snow brush, bottled water and, to be practical, a roll or two of toilet paper.     Additionally, any medications that you may need should you get stuck in a snowbank in the future.

MEDICAL CONCERNS ON THE BLAIR VFD SUMMARY MONDAY     Four calls are on the activity summary Monday for the Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department – Someone suffering from chest pain, another with problems breathing, a medical transport and a person injured in a fall.

A burglary and theft reported in Tekamah lead to the investigation of a suspect last week.     A search warrant obtained by the Tekamah Police Department and with assistance with the Burt County Sheriff’s Office of a camper in an alleyway, found several stolen items valued into the thousands, along with a small amount of methamphetamine.     The suspect was found riding a bicycle near the scene and arrested.
