A fire last night at the Monona County Fairgrounds burned part of the grandstands among other damages. The origin of the fire is unknown at this time. Crews from Onawa, Blencoe, Whiting Fire departments, the Monona County Sheriff’s Office, Monona County Emergency Management and Burgess Health Center responded. If you noticed any unusual activity near the fairgrounds area, you’re asked to contact the Monona County Sheriff’s Office directly at 712-433-1414

As of 10am, we have the following information: Scanner traffic earlier this morning indicated a fire at Country Estates Mobile Home Park just south of Blair at 8670 Thompson Drive. Crews from Fort Calhoun, Kennard and Blair are on site, you are advised to avoid the area while first responders are working. Blair Radio will provide additional information as it is provided. WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S REPORT FOR THE WEEKEND     A traffic stop in Fort Calhoun in which a pregnant woman was driving under revocation was cited and released.
