First Responder of the Month

The City of Blair is proud to recognize Blair Police Department Office Manager Amy Thallas as their October Hometown First Responder of the Month!

Amy joined the Blair Police Department in May 2020 after previously spending 27 years with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout her career, Amy has dedicated herself to supporting the law enforcement professionals who serve our community.

Most recently, Amy stepped up during an extended staffing shortage within the department, taking on additional responsibilities and an increased workload to ensure essential office functions continued without interruption. Her dedication, teamwork, and willingness to do whatever was needed helped keep the department running smoothly.

Amy says she considers herself fortunate to be part of BPD and especially enjoys events like National Night Out, where officers and the community have an opportunity to come together.
