Just moments ago, the third candidate, Mitch Robinson, filed his official candidacy papers with the clerk's office. Current sheriff, Mike Robinson announced several months ago that he would not run for sheriff again.

STOLEN FIREARM, INMATE IN DISTRESS ON WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S SUMMARY A theft reported in the 4300 block of Hillside Drive yesterday afternoon is on the Washington County Sheriff’s Activity Summary for this past weekend. A theft of a firearm from someone’s vehicle was called in to the sheriff’s office, the owner did not realize it was missing until he arrived home in Kansas. The arrest of a 22 year old woman for a Douglas County Warrant happened in Fort Calhoun. A

MAKING IT OFFICIAL! He announced his candidacy for Washington County Sheriff back in May, and today Kevin Willis officially filed for candidacy at the clerk’s office in Blair. Willis has 30 years law enforcement experience, with 26 of those years with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office – some of it as chief deputy. Kevin also served as a reserve officer with the Blair Police department and the sheriff’s office. Current Sheriff Mike Robinson announced last year
