LIFE SAVING AWARDS, NEW CHIEF & PROPERTY PURCHASE AT BLAIR CITY COUNCIL TUESDAY NIGHT

Blair Police Officer Brandon Guern and Blair Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department Firefighters Logan Thallas and Anthony Borders, along with Registered Nurse Bob Horst, Senior Cadets Chasity Hahn and Landon Holtz, EMS Captain Ty Hernes and Assistant Chief Jake Dunn were awarded the Code Save Award at last night’s Blair City Council meeting. This after responding to a person in distress with a cardiac arrest. That person was eventually able to leave the hospital under their own power.

Also at that meeting Blair’s new Police Chief, Jeremy Kinsey and two new officers, Jedzia Radke and Paige Arent were sworn in by city clerk Brenda Wheeler.

City Council members voted to approve a purchase agreement between the city and Joan Clements to purchase property adjacent to city hall for potential future expansion. Also approved, a resolution which would prohibit parking on both sides of Deerfield Boulevard from Highway 75 to Landing Lane – and authorizing the street department to install no parking signs.
