Blair City Council: June 9

Blair City Council Okays Agreements for Crime Investigation Services, Pool, and Local Health Directives

The Blair City Council approved an agreement with Douglas County for crime scene services as well during the meeting last night.

Also approved – modified hours for the municipal pool – four hours per day Thursday through Sunday.

Council members and city attorney Desirae Solomon discussed the changes to the city’s board of health. Solomon says the board of health should have the ability to issue it’s own directed health measures for local incidents such as disease outbreaks.

Amendments to the regulations include the ability to fine people breaking those directed health measures $100. The council did approve those changes on final reading with council member Chris Jensen voting against it.

The council will be meeting at the Blair Public Library for the next few weeks – a larger room allows for adequate social distancing required by the state’s directed health measures.
