HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…

The Fort Calhoun Teammates Program is having a BINGO fundraiser at the high school on Sunday, January 11th from noon til 3pm. Proceeds to benefit the Teammates Scholarship program.

The Blair Sons of the American Legion’s Annual Game Feed is February 6th 5:30 to 8pm at the Fort Calhoun Catholic Church Social Hall. Fish, Pheasant, Smoked Turkey and more...tickets are 25 dollars for those 21 and older, 15 dollars for those aged 13 to 20, and kids under 12 are a free will offering. Those tickets are available at the door.

A Woman’s Self Defense Class is February 11th from 6pm to 8pm at Loess Hills Martial Arts in Logan, Iowa. The cost is 15 dollars.

The 2026 Historic Picture Calendar produced by the Blair Historic Preservation Alliance and the Washington County Museum this year is featuring Historic Churches in our area. You can pick up your calendar at the Washington County Community Foundation Office – the cost is 15 dollars.

The Blair Fine Arts Booster’s are selling the 2026 Discount Card which offers discounts at area businesses. That card is available for 20 dollars – proceeds to benefit the Blair High School and Middle Schools. Go online to BlairFAB.square.site for details.

The Jeanette Hunt Animal Shelter is seeking donations of cat litter and scoops, kitten milk replacement, long lasting bones, cleaning supplies and office supplies such as paper and postage stamps. You can see more on the shelter’s social media.
