Search and Rescue Effort in Washington County Successful - Elderly Woman is Now Safe

A 74 year old woman with dementia bolted from a vehicle in the 20 thousand block of County Road 10 yesterday, the driver of the vehicle was unable to locate the woman.

Blair and Herman fire and rescue, as well as the Nebraska State Patrol began a search for the woman - Washington County deputies were tied up in responding to two different and ongoing violent domestic disputes at the same time– one in Arlington, the other in the 1100 block of County Road P-47.

A state patrol air plane and searchers on four wheelers did find the woman in a field near a home on county road p-12 and she was safely retrieved. You can hear an interview with Blair VFD Captain Randy Backman at noon and 5pm or stream here.
