LB 1159 updates current law regarding the nomination process for the Nebraska Hall of Fame. Currently this is allows only one person every five years and the person being nominated must have passed away 35 years prior to the nomination.
The change being proposed would allow one living person to be installed in the Hall of Fame. A specific criteria for that nomination is also set. In this particular situation, if approved by the Unicameral, those changes proposed by Senator Dan Lonowski, would allow for former Nebraska coach and congressman Tom Osborne would be included in the Hall of Fame. He and his wife Nancy also launched the TeamMates program.
