MO VALLEY HYDRANT FLUSHING BEGINS TODAY

Missouri Valley posted a special note regarding Hydrant Flushing. Weather permitting, hydrants will be flushed beginning this week.

Hydrant flushing is scheduled to begin September 23rd and end on October 2nd, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Please check the color of any wash water used during this time period. Hydrant flushing is maintenance to help ensure the reliability and quality of the water distribution system. During this process, fire hydrants are opened to allow water to flow at a high velocity through the pipes. This helps remove mineral deposits, sediment, and other debris that may have accumulated over time
