Unemployment rates for the nation are posted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Those rates posted today show that the highest unemployment rates are in Connecticut and New Mexico, the two states tied at 7.9 percent.
The states with the lowest rate of unemployed residents are South Dakota at 4, New Hampshire at third lowest in the nation, Utah at number 2.
The state with the lowest rate of unemployment at 2.5 percent is Nebraska.
Iowa ranks 12th with 4.0 percent, which is the same rate as Georgia, Minnesota and North Dakota.
