Former superintendent of Blair Community schools,84 year old Larry Bock passed away January 8th. He spent 25 years as an administrator with the Blair School District. He is survived by his wife, Maureen and children Brett and Shannon. Visitation is tomorrow from 5 to 7pm, the Vigil is from 6 to 8pm, and the Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday at 10am, all events at Saint Francis Borgia Catholic Church.

41 year old Kathryn Birdsall Sutherland of Blair passed away January 9th. She is survived by her children, Kaleb and Keaghan, father of her children and friend Luke Sutherland, mother Mary Birdsall, brother David, grandmother Joyce Johnston, her biological father, Marty Gillespie and their families. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

69 year old Carolyn Lewis of Omaha passed away December 27th. The Celebration of Life is Saturday, January 17th 10:30 at Campbell Aman.

34 year old Heather Salter of Missouri Valley, born in Blair, passed away January 4th. She is survived by her children: Hailee, Gabe and Mitchell Showers; Xaviar, Braelin and Hazel Stueve. Sisters Avery Anderson, Jenny Jager, Rachel Roberts and their families. The Celebration of Life was Saturday in Honey Creek Iowa.

56 year old Patrick West, Junior of Missouri Valley passed away January 2nd. He was a Captain of Security with Douglas County Corrections and helped found the DCDC Honor Guard. A Celebration of Life will be January 18th 1 to 4 pm at the Missouri Valley Eagles Club.

95 year old Phyllis Johnson Beam of Omaha passed away January 5th. She was a former elementary school principal at Ponca Elementary in northern Douglas County, as well as Irvington and Springville and others. She is survived by her daughters, Joni Redford and Sue Fritz and their families. The funeral service is tomorrow starting at 10:30 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
