86-year-old Verdella Sidebottom of Council Bluffs, formerly of Persia, passed away November 27th. She is survived by her husband Marlin Sidebottom, Daughters Patti Templeton of Blair, Melanie Shulte of Shelby and son Mark Sidebottom of Persia and other family members. Visitation is this Sunday 2-4 pm, the funeral is Monday, 11am, both at Hoy Kilnoski in Council Bluffs.

83-year-old Arlyce Fuchs Olsen of Fremont, formerly of Arlington and Missouri Valley, passed away November 29th. She was a Dana College graduate. She is survived by her son, James Nore, Brothers Robert of Arlington and Roger of Portland, Oregon. Visitation is Friday, December 8th at 9:30, the funeral follows at 10:30, both at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington.


74-year-old Ben Cunard of Ozark, Missouri, formerly of Missouri Valley, died November 23rd. He is survived by companion JoAnn Zimmerman, former wife Sylvia, children Ben Cunard of Blair, Brad of Olathe Kansas, Cara Henderson, siblings Claudia Cunard of Missouri Valley Kath Mickey, Pat Fair, Dan and Mark and other family members. A memorial service is slated December 9th, 11am at Hennessey Funeral Home.


89-year-old Richard Hunt of Blair passed away November 26th. Among his many activities, he worked at the family business - HunTel. He is survived by Maureen Hunt and her children, his sons David, Daniel and Nathan, and his grandchildren and other family members. A Celebration of Life is this Saturday at the Blair Marina from 11:30 to 3pm.


85-year-old Robert Volk of Arlington passed away November 28th. Bob was heavily involved in 4-H and several ag related organizations. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, sons Jay and Clark and their families. Visitation is Sunday, December 3rd 4-7 at the Rybin building at the Washington County Fairgrounds, the funeral is Monday, 11am, also at the Rybin Building.


51-year-old Michael Jenkins passed away November 26th. He is survived by his wife, Lesley, children Ian and Ella, sister Cheri, stepfather Gary Siverts and other family members. Visitation is December 4th 9:30, the memorial service follows at 10:30 – both at First Lutheran Church of Blair.


76-year-old Carolyn Thompson Anderson of Blair died November 23rd. The funeral is Saturday, December 9th at 11am at Salem Evangelical Covenant Church in Oakland.
