Area Fire Departments are encouraging individuals that are trained in CPR to join PulsePoint.

The social media release stated (in part): When someone suffers sudden cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation matters. Our firefighters and paramedics are responding, but PulsePoint gives us another powerful resource: you. It connects people who are nearby with a cardiac arrest occurring in a public location, giving trained community members an opportunity to begin lifesaving CPR before first responders arrive.

They are asking for individuals that are trained in CPR to join PulsePoint and to have more learn CPR as well as you might be the closest person to someone who needs you. Contact your local fire department to learn more about CPR training and joining the PulsePoint.
