Copyright scams are circulating among other ploys to relieve you of your money. A fake “urgent message” informs you that your social media post is using a copyrighted visual or song and will direct you to a phone number or website where your personal and financial information is demanded.
Creighton University’s Internet security team advises that you look up the organization’s website and confirm the real phone number, avoid giving your account information, and cautions that IT teams will not ask for passwords over the phone or email.
