A proposed new 15 hundred bed prison site for northwest Lincoln, 112th and Adams – is changing. Originally chosen due to closer proximity to Omaha, those in the neighborhood of that site have expressed disapproval of the location. Now a second site is being considered by the state and the city – the new location is north of i-80 and East of 70th street in Lincoln, near the Bluff Road Landfill. Correction officials say the construction timeline will stay the same, with the construction in the design phase.
