Blair City Council Summary

Baseball and Softball on a limited basis looks possible this summer. The Blair City Council this week approved a hand full of measures which will require those organizations using the ball fields to sign waivers.

Those organizations that work with younger children will have stricter regulations regarding Covid-19 precautions and activities will primarily be practices, those groups that work with older children will expect those participants to adhere to regulations as well - and games with opposing teams will be played, all entities also recognized that restrictions could be relaxed a few times during the summer due to the changing situation with the virus.

Council members also tabled decision on bids for a dump truck – the lowest bidder is based in Missouri, leaving concerns that maintenance facilities would be too far away.

Discussion with the Blair YMCA regarding opening of the Blair Swimming pool is on-going. Making sure there are sufficient life guards is one of the concerns according to city administrator Rod Storm.
