We will be seeing quite a few bikers coming into Blair late summer – the Nebraska Interscholastic Cycling League received approval by the Blair City Council to use the bike trails at Black Elk Neihardt Park for a a three day bike racing event this August. Over 200 riders, 300 spectators and more are expected to be in the area for that event.
Also at that meeting, approval given for appointments to the Blair Volunteer Fire Department administration: President, Henry Neff; Vice President, Ernie Brenneis; Secretary, Brenda Jenny; Treasurer, James Pounds, and Sargent of Arms – Howard McManigal.
The contract for repair of the city’s brick streets this year will be awarded to DMC Incorporated, asphalt overlay work will be done by Cather and Sons.
