Board of Supervisors Summary

Washington County Board of Supervisors Summary 07-13-21.

Adoption of the 2021 Papio Missouri River Natural Resources District Multi Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan was approved by the Washington County Board of Supervisor’s in it’s meeting yesterday. The plan spells out the protocol for various natural hazards and catastrophes for the county and the communities within the county and the Natural Resource’s District’s role. Having such a plan in place helps in federal funding should it be needed.

Though there are a few loose ends to tie up – with some elevator issues, the newly completed Washington County Justice Center is well received in the community according to comments received by visitors to the recent Ribbon Cutting and Open House. That report by the jail committee made to the board of supervisors at yesterday afternoon’s meeting.

Also discussed roads projects – County Road 34 near Boyer Chutes is close to asphalting, a few more property owners agreements are needed before work on County Road p-16 can commence, and according to Highway Superintendent Bill Hansel, roadways did not see a lot of damage from last weekend’s storms, but that removing trees felled by the winds is ongoing.
