Here’s what’s happening in our area…


If you’re curious about bee keeping, the Blair Public Library is having a presentation with Tony Damme July 8th from 5 to 6 pm. The event will include information on the basics of back yard bee keeping and how honey is made. The Bee Keeping presentation is for those aged 16 years and up


Summer Day Camps at the School House- at the Washington County Museum in Fort Calhoun are Wednesday and Thursday July 30th and 31st and will feature Native American Crafts and Pioneer Crafts. There is a fee, registration and more information can be found online at wcmuseum.org/kids-daycamp


The American Red Cross is seeking volunteers to help with blood drives. Blood Donor Ambassadors and Blood Transportation Specialists are sought. More details can be found online at redcrossblood.org/volunteer


The Bennington Fire Department is having a hamburger feed as a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Sunday, July 13th from 11am to 2pm Burgers, chips and drinks for a free-will donation at the Bennington Fire Department, 10801 North 156th Street in Bennington.


Roots to Wings in Arlington is having a patriotic fundraiser where you can donate 100, 50 or 25 dollars to have US flags placed on someone’s yard. This is available through the summer – more information can be found on the Roots to Wings Facebook page.
