HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…


It’s scholarship season and the Washington County Community Foundation is accepting applications through April 1st.  More details online at wash co comm foundation.org


Other scholarships available in our area include the Tekamah Fire and Rescue Department’s Scholarship for any Tekamah High School Student going in to Fire Protection, Technology or Healthcare. - this too has a deadline of April 1st.


VRW Post 1251 has its final fish fry on April 3rd from 5 - 8 pm. $15 per plate. 


Blair Optimist Club is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at South School on Saturday, April 4, at 12:30pm. Fifth-grade students through toddlers are invited.


Carter Place Community Easter Egg Hunt is coming up on Saturday, April 4, at 1:30pm. Two children will win a new bike. There will be prizes and candy for kids. (The Easter egg hunt will be moved inside if there is weather.) 


Blair Community Hospital is hosting a Community Health Fair on Saturday, April 11, from 7am-noon at the hospital. Free health screening and access to local resources.  


Blair Spring Clean-up is from April 10-18. At the Blair Public Works yard, Blair city residents can dispose of many household, lawn, and construction materials (no hazardous waste will be accepted). The Blair Public Works offices will be open April 10-26 from 4-6pm on weekdays and 10am-5pm on weekends.

 

The Washington County First Responder Softball Game is coming up on Saturday, April 11, at 6:30pm at the Blair Youth Sports Complex. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. All proceeds go to Blair Little League.
