HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…
The Parade of Lights in Fort Calhoun is coming up November 29th. The Parade Line Up starts at 5 at the ballfields, the parade starts at 5:30. At 6, in the West Market Square - Nikki’s Dance Studio performance, the High School Choir, and the Tree lighting are planned.
The Washington County Community Thanksgiving Dinner is Thanksgiving Day, November 27th from 11am to 2pm at Saint Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair, this is open to anyone in Washington County and is free. Volunteers and donations are needed – sign up information and other details can be found on the Washington County Community Thanksgiving Dinner Facebook page.
A concerted effort at fundraising for Washington County’s non-profit organizations is Thursday, December 2nd. Details at wcnegives.org
A Red Cross Blood Drive is Wednesday, December 3rd from 8 til 2 at the Fort Calhoun High School Gym. Visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter “Pioneers” to schedule an appointment.
The next Lunch and Learn at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital is December 9th – the topic - “Movement is Medicine, Nutrition is the Key!” The speaker is Dr. Mark Shirley, the emergency room physician and Sports Medicine Specialist. The event is free and open to the public, but you must register first. Call 402-426-1464
The Christmas for the Coat Drive Through event is Wednesday, December 10th from 6:30 am to 9am. Tickets are ten dollars. All proceeds go to the Washington County Food Pantry.
