LARGE FIRE SOUTHWEST OF BLAIR THIS AFTERNOON
March 10, 2021, 3 PM CST: A large field fire off of County Road 36 has fire crews from Blair, Bennington, Arlington, Fort Calhoun, Ponca Hills and Kennard pouring water on scorched cropland. Winds in the vicinity are at 36 to 44 miles per hour according to the National Weather Service.
Smoke is drifting north, bringing haze and the smell of burning dry vegetation into Blair.
Another large field fire east of Fort Calhoun is reported by the Washington County Sheriff's office also at this time.
Those who may have breathing problems may want to stay indoors and avoid the smoke and dust.
