They Harrison County Sheriffs office reported the following incident report for July 8 through the 12th.


July 8: Sheriff was contacted for cows on the roadway. The cow owner was contacted per this matter. Also a dog complaint on Light Breeze Lane. The dog was not located and attempts to contact owner were made.


July 9: Sheriff assisted Missouri Valley Police with a traffic stop/OWI investigation near the intersection of E. Erie Street and 6th Street in Missouri Valley. An arrest was made per Missouri Valley charges and subject was transported to Harrison County Jail. An investigating of a two-vehicle accident on Highway 30, near Casey Trail. Sheriff assisted Harrison County Conservation with a controlled substance investigation at Willow Lake Recreation Area. An arrest was made per HC Conservation charges and subject was transported to Harrison County Jail.


July 10: Sheriff initiated a traffic stop on Highway 30, near Sanford Place. An OWI investigation was performed on the driver during this time. Based on the findings, Luis Lopez Velasquez of Denison, Iowa, was arrested and transported to jail for an OWI and Possession of a Controlled Substance violations. Sheriff’s office performed a required update for an individual on the sex offender registry. Sheriff was contacted by Logan resident on S. 4th Avenue per a complaint of city employees mowing/blowing grass clippings onto vehicle parked on their residential property. Contact was made with city officials per this report. A check was made on a reported suspicious person walking along Highway 127, near Magnolia. Contact was made with subject and no foul play was observed during this time. Deputy was contacted by a resident on 1st Street in Pisgah regarding a harassment complaint. Investigation is ongoing.


July 11: Deputy responded to a semi-trailer fire on Interstate #29, near #75 mile-marker. Fire departments were dispatched to scene and Iowa State Patrol is handling investigation. Sgt. Kline responded to a report of missing or stolen dogs from a residential property on Salina Avenue. Investigation is ongoing. Deputy Sosa was contacted by a resident on Kendall Trail for a report of obscene online videos/pictures being sent to a juvenile. Investigation is ongoing. Deputy Sosa and Sgt. Kline responded to a reported disturbance near a residence on N. 2nd Avenue in Logan. Based on the findings, several subjects were issued Minor in Possession of Alcohol violations and parents were contacted.


July 12: Sgt. Kline responded to a report of a motorist damaging their residential mailbox off Highway 191, just north of Persia, and taking off from the scene. A description of the vehicle was provided by resident, but was not located during this time. Deputy McMurray is investigating a single motorcycle accident near the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 8th Street in Logan. Deputy Sosa responded to a report of three subjects walking along Interstate 29, near #91 mile-marker. The area was patrolled and nobody was located during this time. Deputy Sosa responded to Interstate 29, near #97 mile-marker, to assist a motorist that ran out of gas.
