Though they have overlapping jurisdictions, some of the decisions regarding platting and permitting are not cohesive between Washington County and the City of Blair.
Some property owners are obtaining permits from one entity that the other entity finds unworkable, such as platting and dealing with landlocked properties.
Are properties accessible by emergency services such as fire and rescue? If not, that could be a legal liability. That question is leading the County Surveyor, Gary Tinkham to seek discussion with the City of Blair to iron out the differences.
That discussion was among the matters dealt with at the county board of supervisor’s meeting earlier this week.
